There are few things my dog and I like better than a strong beer in the sunshine with a side of chips. We are both fries fiends – he (Arty) likes them plain, mine should be salted with mayo on the side – and so when the opportunity arose to visit Belgium together, it was impossible to say no. While most British visitors to Belgium make for its cosmopolitan cities with their medieval centres, we whizzed straight past them all after our Dover–Calais P&O ferry (which has an excellent new Pet Lounge with privacy walls so nervous dogs can’t see others and water for both humans and pets) and beelined for beautiful Dinant.

Hello do you still have to get the worming certificate from vet before the dog can return to England?
