The DogFriendly Awards is an annual competition for dog lovers to vote for their favourite places across a range of categories from dog friendly places to stay, through pubs, cafes, and dog services
This has been an exciting year, with more competition for some new categories, including shopping centres, days out, doggy splash and one for single holiday cottage owners. Over 800 nominated businesses were involved, with 36,000 votes and reviews. The awards’ ceremony took place on 21 November at the Kennel Club headquarters in London, with special guest Ted from Gone Fishing (with Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer) making an appearance and signing his new book, A Pawtobiography. The awards were hosted by Debbie Arnold, actress, presenter, producer and ambassador for the Retired Transport Police Dogs charity.

Introductions were by Steve Bennett, DogFriendly’s founder, and James Waters, its general manager. Over 100 finalists and guests made it on the day to receive their winner or runner-up award. Plus, they were joined by 16 extremely well-behaved dogs. All came up to be presented with a doggy gift and guests heard a little about their stories as champions for their respective businesses. It was great that so many of our finalists could make it and we would like to thank all those involved in the competition. The results of each category were very close. If you didn’t make it into the finals this year, there’s always next year to take part.
