As part of an art-filled weekend Stephen and Nia Bridgewater, and their miniature poodles Howie and Franklin, visit Ormskirk and Crosby

Stephen and Nia Bridgewater
“You know how I’ve always wanted to see those statues on the beach?” announced Nia as she called me while I was away working overseas. I had no recollection of previous conversations, nor any idea which statues she was referring to, but I stayed quiet and kept listening. “Well, I’ve just found a really nice dog friendly B&B in the area,” she continued, “and I’ve booked us in next weekend.” A quick internet search of ‘statues on the beach’ soon dispelled any confusion and it became obvious that she was referring to Antony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ – the art installation on the beach at Crosby in Lancashire. We both love art, and the dogs love a beach, so this seemed like a perfect weekend.
